#22 Sam Romano

Proud to announce, Sam Romano, is the StickStar Player of the Year.

With this being StickStar’s fifth year of complete coverage of the regular and second seasons, we have seen many players and classes come and go.  Four years ago, one of the most exciting offensive players ever to grace the Texas Lacrosse stage, Sam Romano, midfielder, burst onto the scene sporting the double nickel as a freshman.  Fresh off of a quality 7/8 championship appearance, the kid started and contributed in his rookie year.

Romano is Texas' first, offensive 'Cuse commit since Travis Bryan in 2000, roughly fifteen years later, and the third overall from the Great State.

Multi-talented Romano introduced the trend of dropping StickStar Production voice-overs on highlights. He has always produced.  Injured, produced.  Shut off, produced.  Healthy, sorry, production.  Also produced Nakeie Montgomery’s highlight film.

You take watching great players like this for granted.  Taking greatness for granted - unbelievable, but true.  We had the opportunity to watch him once more at the Texas All Star Round Up, and he put together another MVP Performance.

Great players work hard and have the most crucial, unique, intangible, competitive excellence.  There are few who could outclass Romano in this category.  Every field he has walked on in the State of Texas, he has led the way in ability and, most certainly, competitive excellence.  He has the ability to alter a game with his scoring, of course, but also his vision and, most importantly, his ground ball game by creating opportunities out of sweat equity.  He put tons of work into his game and has earned every single thing.  Now, he looks to earn time in the offensive equation for the Syracuse Orange in 2016.  We looking forward to watching Romano for years to come at the next level and know he will undoubtedly do us proud.  Good luck, brother!

Freshman Year sporting the double nickel.
