Sullivan Lacrosse & StickStar Lacrosse collaborate on USBOXLA Charter Member.

Coming in 2016 Sullivan Lacrosse and StickStar Lacrosse will collaborate on a new venture Texas Box Lacrosse.  TexasBoxLacrosse.com, TXBOXLAX.com (for short) is still under construction, but upon completion it will be the home for all things Box Lacrosse in the Lone Star State.  Texas Box Lacrosse.com will provide leagues, training camps, workshops, tournaments, and select travel teams.  As Texas’s charter member with the United States Box Lacrosse Association, or USBOXLA, their teams will compete with Denver Elite, CaliLax, Resolute, and the Junior Stealth among others.  The positive benefits of Box Lacrosse are well documented.  This style of play is crucial for development and has been utilized by both the Southlake and StickStar programs consistently over the last couple of years.

StickStar Lacrosse Owner / Operator Anthony Crimmins, “I’m thrilled to get TexasBoxLacrosse.com off the ground with the foremost expert in the State, Bart Sullivan.  I’ve known Bart since we played against each other in college, Bart being at Denver, and myself at Butler.  He’s been dedicated to this style of play for quite awhile and he’s taught me a lot.  I’m excited to bring this tremendous game to the players of the Great State, and believe in its utility 100%.”

Bart Sullivan, “Partnering with Anthony Crimmins on this venture was a no-brainer for me; his commitment to education for both players and coaches is second to none.  It is my hope that this will give various coaches, teams, organizations, etc. that would otherwise see each other as rivals in field lacrosse a new platform to possibly work together.  Also, our representation within the USBOXLA will no doubt be a crucial aspect of helping us educate ourselves and any other organizations in Texas interested in starting box lacrosse or learning more about the game.  Beyond the skill development benefits, box lacrosse offers players the chance to experience the game they love in a whole way that is fun and exciting but at the same time extremely challenging and humbling for even the best field lacrosse players.”

While Sullivan and StickStar have both traveled box teams, together in fact, the inaugural TXBOXLAX.com teams will compete this February at the Resolute Midwest Classic.  Two teams composed of 2020’s and 2021’s from Houston, Austin, and Dallas will take part in one of the more competitive box tourneys in the country.  It’s going to be a tremendous tune up for many of these players as they prepare for the upcoming middle school season.

TexasBoxLacrosse.com / TXBOXLAX.com will come on line here in the coming months so please stay tuned!  We’ll have a recap of the tournament action, while also bringing everyone up to speed on our plans moving forward.  To kick everything off we’ll have a Box Training Session the weekend of Jan. 23 / 24 for all those interested.  This will also serve as our travel teams training camp for the upcoming competition opportunity as well.  Spots are limited and, registrations are mandatory.  Click Here for more details.  To register, please, email Helen Crimmins.
