Michael Ferrara (2019) Frisco - Midfielder
Michael Ferrara from Frisco is a pure two-way midfielder with serious grit and skill to match. A two-sport athlete, Ferrara also plays running back on the grid iron.
Although not huge in stature Ferrara's strength, footwork, and toughness allow him to play much bigger than his physical size. He is a lock down defensive presence against short sticks whether up top or inverted from behind. In between the boxes, he's a grinder that works for every loose ball and simply does not get tired. The kid has a serious motor and in the open field, makes people miss with consistency.
Offensively, Ferrara gets it done as well. He plays with serious confidence and has a nose for the goal. Whether attacking defenders out of wind-ups, creating separation with his dynamic first step, or beating guys underneath Ferrara gets to the cage. Couple those options with his low center gravity/brute strength and he is a really tough cover for opposing defenseman.
Ferrara is only a sophomore at Frisco, but he is versatile and has the competitive drive to make an impact on any team he plays for. He is capable of being a shut down D-mid, gaining possession from face-off wings, or exposing short stick defenders in the offensive half. In any case, he adds a ton of value to his teams and gives 100% effort 100% of the time.
