So we’ve been battling with the idea of having training this weekend in the HTX. It’s a Catch 22 between being insensitive and trying to restore some sense of normalcy, routine & fun for kids / parents who have been surviving a 500 year flood.
While we’re not quite 100% sure about the training portion yet (HTX Evaluations), one thing we know is that we (StickStar) are going to Houston. Saturday morning we will have our 1st ever Fall Dallas Practice from 9AM – 1045AM and at the same time we’ll have a HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF DRIVE!
Our goal is to fill up the newly minted StickStar Mobile with relief supplies for it’s Maiden Voyage, a humanitarian effort. We will take all the lacrosse supplies in the bed of the truck, and will use remaining cab space should donations exceed the limitations of the StickStar Mobile! #ChallengeAccepted
Below is a list of items that victims of Hurricane Harvey are in desperate need of; however, please do not think that you are limited to what we've listed below! Anything helps! Remember, this isn’t a StickStar Thing, it’s a Texas Thing. We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early Saturday morning at Greenhill on the Track Field. It’s going to be a madhouse between practice and this RELIEF DRIVE, but we’ll make it work. Please stay tuned to StickStarLacrosse.com and @StickStarLax on Twitter & Instagram while we coordinate the best drop off location from a traffic stand point with Greenhill! We appreciate everyone's support in getting the word out and making this thing a success. We are UNITED for a Reason! Lets go!
