Coaching Philosophies and Lineage

Coaching Education: Crimmins's coaching education continues with frequent interaction with college coaches across the country and numerous summer lacrosse camps.

Students of the Game:  We are coaches who believe in the necessity for constant and consistent improvement in our ability to teach the game.  We are students of the game first and believe that ones ability to coach does not stem from where you played, but how much time you spend at the field.  Teaching methods and systems can only be developed by investing time and effort out on the field or in the classroom.

Approach:  Crimmins' approach involves current techniques, attention to detail, discipline and a college system.  

Coaching Lineage

StickStar Lacrosse and Coach Crimmins would not be where it is today without the tremendous amount he has learned from our past and current coaches / teachers / mentors.  For Anthony those include (in order of interaction):

  1. Anthony's Father, Michael Crimmins:  Football and basketball player at the U.S. Naval Academy and Ohio University; college football coach at Indiana University under Lee Corso, Air Force Academy, and Cornell University; Head Coach for Coppell Lacrosse 1998 to 2000.
  2. Russ Bolling:  All American in lacrosse for the U.S. Military Acadeym, founder and former Head Coach of Coppell Lacrosse.
  3. Steve Beville: Lacrosse Head Coach at Cortland State.
  4. Ted Garber:  Anthony's Head Coach at Avon Old Farms.  Current Loomis Chaffee Head Lacrosse Coach; former head lacrosse coach in the Major Lacrosse League and University of New Hampshire (while D1).
  5. Craig Kahoun: Butler University lacrosse standout; Butler head coach from 1999 to 2004.
  6. Garrett Rosecrans:  Standout lacrosse player at Butler University; current coach and lacrosse entrepeneur in South Carolina.
  7. Nick Myers:  Head Coach at Ohio State University; formerly, assistant coach at Butler University.
  8. Stan Ross:  Assistant Lacrosse Coach at U.S. Naval Academy; formerly, head coach at Butler University.
  9. Gerry Byrne:  Assistant Lacrosse Coach at University of Notre Dame.
  10. Kevin Corrigan: Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Notre Dame.
  11. Brian Fisher:  Assistant Lacrosse Coach at the University of Notre Dame.
  12. Chris Surran:  Head Lacrosse Coach at Dallas Jesuit; All-American Goalie for Syracuse University winning NCAA title in 1993.
  13. Chris Burdick:  Head Lacrosse Coach at Providence College.
  14. Jon Torpey:  Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Dartmouth University; formerly an Head Defensive Asst. at Denver.
  15. Ryan Wellner: Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Stony Brook University; formerly an Asst. at Washington & Lee.
  16. Jack Sandler: Head Lacrosse Coach at Skidmore University.
  17. Brendan Dawson:  Head Lacrosse Coach at Aurora University, formerly an assistant at Dickinson and Salisbury.
