StickStar Lacrosse Instruction's mission is to provide value by improving a player's development through expert demonstration, a consistent teaching method, and constructive criticism. By constantly engaging a players in a dialogue, players get consistent and continuous feedback regarding their technique, which they can modify immediately. This constant questioning allows for increased "Lacrosse IQ". After working StickStar instructors, players are able to speak and make sense of the language of lacrosse.
Consistency
StickStar Lacrosse Instruction is committed to the idea of consistency. When first observing a player, it is often obvious that the most basic skills and mechanics have been overlooked. This oversight invariably leads to poor consistency. StickStar embraces the building blocks (the basic skill set) in order to make future, more difficult, skill sets that much easier.
The result is a new consistency in players' skills and ability to understand what they are doing wrong if an error does occur. By previously breaking down the skills, the players have already learned the drills and mechanics to fix their inconsistencies. Finally, once these basic skills are mastered, the more difficult and complex skills become easier to understand and execute.
In addition, consistency is a key step towards confidence. When players are able to consistently execute skills in a game that their teammates have trouble with, they understand that their hard work is paying off. Finally, when player exhibit confidence and possess the requisite skills, they have more fun playing the sport!
Efficiency
StickStar Lacrosse's method of instruction isn't only consistent, it is also efficient. We take away the inequities and inconsisties to leave the student with a simplified method of each skill. There is no need for extra wasted motion, it is only clutter and variable. 99% of students who complete the throwing portion of instruction believe our method to be easier and more consistent.
