DSelect Coaches - watching..., judging..., adding value.
The Dallas Select coaching staff is a dedicated group of Texans who understands the importance of our system-based approach and the preparation necessary to develop and play at the next level all while representing our state appropriately.
The two senior members of the staff include:
1) Anthony Crimmins (Head Coach / Program Director) - Coppell - Avon Old Farms - D1 Butler Univ.
***8th year running select teams.
2) Alan Eberstein (Asst. Coach / Face Off Coach) – St. Marks – Exeter – Univ. of Pennsylvania
*** 3rd year with Dallas Select
Dallas Select has decided to attack a problem that has severely hampered the rapid expansion of our game, the coaching shortage, by creating the "DSelect Coaches' Development Program". We believe that this active approach will help to create many of the future coaches in the area.
Our candidates for assistant coaches are an exclusive group selected on specific critera. Our assistants are either:
1) Texans currently competing at the next level;
2) Players from our system who have matriculated into college;
3) Players from our system who will be heading on to play at the next level for the 2012 season.
With this coaching staff development approach, Dallas Select has created an environment of dedicated coaches at each and every practice. For whatever our coaches lack in experience, they make up for it in:
1) Youth – Our coaches' youth allows for an ability to relate with our current players. As our players see the belief that these coaches show in the DSelect system, they buy in even faster.
2) Understanding of the DSelect System – Who better to coach players trying to execute our system than players who have executed it? They may not have experience with coaching in big games, but they do understand and have experience with our system. They know and comprehend the VOCABULARY associated with what we are looking to execute and why executing OUR WAY works.
3) Effort – Because our coaches are YOUNG, they want to work hard and do a good job. Because our coaches are COMPETITORS, they want to do the best job possible. When they do that, we are in great shape.
4) Understanding What it Takes / Dedication - Because many of our coaches have either already matriculated or will be matriculating on to play at the next level, they understand the steps necessary in the recruiting process as they have lived through them very recently. At the same time, many of them understand the work you must put in at the next level as well as how the coaches approach you. This CURRENT insight into the college athlete's world is invaluable.
At the end of the day, our Dallas Select players are given access to some tremendous resources. Through effort and paying attention to detail, they learn a tremendous amount. And that is what it is ALL about! If you would like to observe this first hand, come to any of our practices. We are always excited to answer questions and demonstrate our knowledge. We look forward to continuing our players' and coaches' development and always appreciate your consideration.
