Dallas, Tx - Dallas Lacrosse and StickStar Lacrosse have teamed up to hold the 1st Annual Texas All Star Round Up - the only, true, statewide, All Star game - whose goal is to recognize the very best players our State has to offer regardless of school, district, or classification.
With a statewide panel of evaluators, the Texas All Star Round Up is based on an annual tradition that many of our panel members actually participated in. The All Star Round Up will serve as a highlight for those seniors who end their season with a loss, while, for underclassmen, it will provide an in-state recruiting opportunity as all the games will be live-streamed, chronicled, and distributed to coaches at the next level.
Dallas Lacrosse is serving as the event operations coordinator for the Texas All Star Round Up, while StickStar Lacrosse will help with player identification and live-streaming of the event.
Dallas Lacrosse has launched a series a local, annual tournaments which bring together quality competition from inside the Great State and nationwide. The Dick’s Lone Star Shootout, which occurs the weekend before Thanksgiving every November, has become their flagship event.
Gary DeSerrano, Dallas Lacrosse President stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to help launch the 1st Annual Texas All Star Round Up. We see this event quickly becoming one of the South’s marquee events for showcasing Texas’ vast lacrosse talent. We expect players, parents, and coaches will leave with a great experience.”
Anthony Crimmins, owner / operator of StickStar Lacrosse, was a two-time, All Star game participant representing Coppell in 1999 and 2000. StickStar Lacrosse is a Texas-based, lacrosse company that was conceived, initiated, and is operated by Texans. It provides consistent and comprehensive services in all areas of the sport of lacrosse including training, select teams, team apparel, and media.
“Playing in the All Star game with the best players in the state was easily one of the highlights of my entire, high school, playing career. To this date, I still have both my All Star jerseys. I am excited to help reestablish one of our State’s greatest lacrosse traditions with this era’s quality players,” expounded Crimmins.
In order to provide a well-rounded and unbiased field of participants, the Texas All Star Round Up sought out a mixture of current and former coaches, both at the high school and collegiate levels, along with former State Commissioners and Texas All Stars from across the State. The responsibility of protecting the integrity of this competition remains contingent on this select group.
"This All-Star game sounds like a great idea that is done for the right reasons. I know that the players will appreciate the opportunity to participate in such an event and it will be a memory that they cherish for years," said Southlake’s Head Coach, Bart Sullivan.
