NEW YORK, NY — U.S. Indoor Lacrosse announced the roster and complete coaching staff for the U.S. Junior Indoor Lacrosse Team which will compete in the 2015 U19 Indoor Lacrosse Challenge in Six Nations, Ontario Canada this September. The roster was narrowed down from hundreds of lacrosse players following three tryout weekends January-March held in Baltimore, MD, Boston, MA and Downingtown, PA., the roster was further trimmed during June-August following each of the three (3) training camps in Downingtown, PA and three (3) Exhibitions played in Downingtown, PA vs. Team Israel, Onondaga Arena, Nedrow, NY vs. Onondaga Redhawks and Essex arena, Burlington, VT vs. Vermont Voyageurs.

“The chance to represent the USA at this elite level is the ultimate honor in lacrosse,” said USIL President and GM Graham D’Alvia. “I am honored and look forward to the further development of this team as we represent our great country in this sport, both on and off the turf.”

“We have assembled a talented and passionate group of lacrosse players whom all possess several key attributes we were looking for to give us the best opportunity for Gold in September. Beside pure lacrosse skills, we were looking for strong character, coach-ability, athleticism, and a team first attitude that all will best contribute to a family atmosphere and team success. Box lacrosse is a sport that demands a do anything for your brothers attitude and we have a group that not only will run and gun but will get down and dirty for each other when needed.” said Team USA Junior Indoor Head Coach Randy Fraser.

Michael Cox, a native Texan from Southlake, is the only player selected to play for Team USA outside the Northeast.  Cox was a four-year varsity letterman for the Southlake Dragons who graduated this year.  Over the past several summers, Cox has played for Blackwolf, a select team based in Washington D.C; and Texas United, a select team from the DFW area.  This coming fall, Michael will be entering Siena College in Albany, New York, as a freshman to play Division 1 lacrosse for the Saints.
“We are very proud of Michael who will be representing his country, the state of Texas, and Southlake in the upcoming world games.  It is evidence that the sport of Lacrosse has experienced exponential growth across the country.  It is also a tribute to the quality of the play and athletes found in the state of Texas.” said Bart Sullivan, Head Coach and Director for Southlake Carroll Lacrosse Association.
