Assistant Coach - University of Maryland Baltimore County
Attack & Midfield
What excites you about coming down to Texas?
I love seeing the desire from younger kids to improve their game & it’s awesome to get the chance to work with like minded coaches to share knowledge about different aspects of the game of lacrosse.
After finishing his senior season at Towson University, Coach Hutchinson joined the coaching staff while finishing up his undergraduate degree in 2015. The following season, he was brought on as a volunteer assistant for the Tigers. Over the next two seasons Coach Hutchinson would work closely with the program’s goaltenders and man-up group; his hard work paid off in the form of an All-American goalie, Tyler White, in 2016.
In the summer of 2017 Coach Hutchinson joined the coaching staff at University Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC); he is now going into his second year with the Retrievers. Ryan Moran, the head coach of the Retrievers, had this to say about Coach Hutchinson, “his knowledge of lacrosse and tireless work ethic is his selfless nature. I feel this quality will be most valuable for our student-athletes to see first-hand. Neil puts others before himself, is accountable and doesn’t complain. These are all characteristics and attributes of the young men we intend to recruit to UMBC. His background in offensive skill development and goaltending play will benefit our team greatly.”
Coach Hutchinson began his collegiate lacrosse career at CCBC-Essex where he was a 2x All-American and was named both Offensive Player of the Year and NJCAA Midfielder of The Year.
In 2013, for his senior season, Coach Hutchinson transferred to play lacrosse at Towson University were he played in 11 games and added 4 assists for the Tigers.
