An exciting and very culturally significant development.

For StickStar, judicious growth and culture are paramount.  In our 15th Summer of traveling teams we have expanded to a new state and with that expansion we have forged many new relationships.  In business, much like in a life you try to plan everything out, but some things you could never possibly prognosticate.  That is the case with our newest club sponsor for Oklahoma United and StickStar, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.

The relationship we are creating with the Potawatomi is an unbelievable addition to the culture component of our company, and comes as we build the foundation of our Oklahoma United program.  For StickStar doing things the right way is crucial.  We believe it is important to represent our states appropriately as we brandish both the name and the flags.  We believe it is important to play a certain style and brand unique to the StickStar Program, and now there is a whole different level of association and affiliation to the game.  For Native Americans, lacrosse (A.K.A. stickball) is part of their life.  It seamlessly blends with their heritage and now we also must represent them appropriately.  We do not take that lightly and will work to make them proud.

We are thrilled with all the relationships we are building north of the Red River, but this will help shape our program culture for many years to come.  We look forward to everyone learning more about our sponsoring tribe, and the work we will do with them hand in hand.

To represent the Potawatomi, we have their tribal seal displayed on the Oklahoma United uniforms along with their signage at all tournaments.

One of the most exciting pieces of the relationships is a weekend event we will hold in the fall, one piece seminar, one piece exhibition.  The seminar will be held on tribal land working to increase the exposure of the sport both in the state and within the native community.  Our goal is to help foster and inspire players to pick up a stick by teaching them skills while also showing them a high level contest.  Players from both Oklahoma and Texas will descend upon the field to compete and demonstrate what a high level of lacrosse that is being played within the region.  The contest will be live streamed by StickStar Productions as we look to increase the exposure of the Potawatomi Tribe across the country!
