#RatzReport: Brandon Mullins Homecoming Edition

Our heart is torn as we have a home town favorite in town!

With Ratz Report we are usually 100% over the top biased for our local team, we’ve demonstrated that through our coverage, but now we’ve got a story that will pull right on your heartstrings.  Brandon Mullins, a hometown favorite plays his first game against the Professional team we’d love to see him get traded to, the Dallas Rattlers.

Mullins, who currently plays for the Boston Cannons is arguably one of the best Texas Lacrosse players in history.  He played locally at Coppell where he helped bring the Cowboys multiple State Championships, including a D1 State title where they defeated Dallas Jesuit in just their 1st year at the D1 Level.  Something we’d be willing to wager never happens again.

After that Mullins took his many talents to Syracuse, electing to play lacrosse instead of football at the Division 1 ranks.  Again, it was tough to keep him off the field.  Mullins quickly made an impact as he played in all 17 of Syracuse’s games, starting in 10 of them.  After suffering an injury his sophomore year, Mullins came back stronger than ever being named 2nd Team All American twice, and 1st Team All American once, while also securing 3x All-ACC Team Athlete honors.  He was a constant fixture down low for Cuse, and a 2x Tewaaraton Award Nominee.

For the Cannons, huge shocker here, Brandon has kept it going.  He was named the teams Rookie of the Year, and in 2017 he was an MLL All Star.

Needless to say, this kid is the man, and one of the best Texans at the Next Level ever.  Thus, we must support him.  Get out to the game tonight, and cheer for the Ratz, but also for Brandon Mullins, because he’s the man.
